feel a watt
Why
What is a Watt and how to measure it? Do you have a notion of how much is one Watt? 5 Watts? 100 MegaWatts?. More than 10 interviews showed me that the concept of “energy“ is defined in many ways by many people, and most importantly, general public don’t know how to measure it.
What is this…
Feel a Watt is a VR experience that helps you understand the concept of energy consumption and WATTS.
Watt describes the consumption of joules per second, meaning a rate of work overtime. Feel a Watt exposes the users to different scenarios in which you have to make work at a given rate (almost like exercising) to give them a notion of how difficult is to obtain a Watt.
Feel a Watt was exhibited at ITP Winter show 2018, in New York, USA.
how…
Thanks to VR technologies we could transport users to different set-ups that they had to overcome in order to move forward in the experience. The hand-controllers of the Oculus Rift allowed us to measure distances and speed of movements and calculate the work done in a given time.

TABROO
What is this…
Taabro, which means Child in Marwari (Rajasthan's dialect of Hindi) is an Augmented Reality application that aims to simulate an environment where a child can learn the basics of Robotics and Physical Computing without requiring physical raw materials, hence making it more accessible.
Tabroo offers an AR platform for multiple users. This way everyone participates actively in the creation and set up of a given circuit by moving connections, energy sources and loads. Every device is updated in real-time and the virtual space shows the decision taken by each creator.
HOW…
Thanks to UNITY and its Multiplayer network tool we were able to prototype this idea with end-users (children).
