Why

Since the middle of 2008, the National Pedagogical University (Colombia) through its Faculty of Arts was linked to the National Program of Concertation of the Ministry of Culture to carry out a technical, analytical and academic supervision of the projects selected by the calls to the program. The program needed a platform to monitor the selected projects and make public their achievements.

What is this...

This portal “Ejericios de la Cultura” was created as part of this process of supervision and with the aim of presenting a small inventory of the cultural development of the country. The website collects about 210 audio-visual documents, thousands of photographic postcards, academic papers and statistical analysis. It is also open for the administrators to add or edit more selected projects.

HOW…

Each project was reviewed and described in several manners. At the end, the team was able to design a template that describes the main components of each project. This way the content producers, project directors and administrators of the CMS have a unified format to exchange information.

An interactive map was also implemented in order to navigate through the different years, departments of the country, and type of project.
