MIT museum Collection GAllery wall
Why
MIT Museum renovated its installations. One of them being the collection gallery. The aim of the gallery is to generate a fuller and deeper understanding of intellectual, research, and educational endeavors of MIT—past, present, and future—through an examination of its material culture, social organization, values, and approaches (including scientific, technical, political, economic, cultural, and aesthetic).
Unlike typical collections galleries or other “visible storage” facilities, the CGW will be a fully-curated and designed presentation.
What is this...
It is a 40 meters wall displaying more than physical 70 objects that portray the importance of MIT in the history of engineering and technology. Every carefully curated object has an ID that allows the user to dig down and learn about the role of this particular artifact. Spectators have access to titles, authors, descriptions, year of creation, more related media, and more.
HOW…
Using ReactJS, React-spring, Contentful, and capacitive touchscreens we created a dynamic solution that can be updated any day the museum decides to change its content. This dynamic infographic contains many animations that compels the user to keep navigating and be surprised by the multiple stories are to be told.
