Why

Walmart is exploring new e-commerce technologies and strategies. That’s why they collaborated with EKO to prototype and iterate over multiple solutions that enhance the shopping experience. In the end, they want to increase user satisfaction, service efficiency, and sales.

What is this...

“Make It” and “Cookshop” are two web hubs where the user can find thousands of activities and recipes to make at home. The tutorials have been tailored designed to accommodate the needs of every user based on their desires, location, and products availability.

Using non-linear storytelling, the experience allows the user to customize their experience by making decisions during the video playback. Based on these decisions the application suggests Walmart products that can be found at the closest Walmart store.

HOW…

This platform was implemented with AWS, ReactJS, NextJS, Contentful, Walmart API, Eko API. The tech stack allows the content editors to upload content at any time, and keep iterating over the designs and implementation once user feedback is received. The tool is fully responsive and works across multiple platforms to ensure access to every user, including WCAG 2.1 guidelines for accessibility.
